SAL DETACHMENT COMMANDER

BASIL PEPPERD

Greetings All, I would like to start this column with some thanks. First I would like to thank my wife and family for their support this year. Next I would like to thank my officers and American Legion Headquarters. I couldn’t have done it without your help. Finally I would like to thank all of the rest of The American Legion Family members that I have come into contact with this last year. You all made my year as Sons of the American Legion Commander a fantastic time.

I certainly hope you had a wonderful time at the State Convention. I know I had a great time. To the newly elected officers, keep going strong. I am very proud of all that Team Kansas accomplished this year. We had a few new Squadrons started, we helped veterans and kids and we helped each other. We are a very special group of men and no one in the U.S. can compare to us, at least in my eyes.

Finally, I would like to say thank you to American Legion Commander Dan Roberson and American Legion Auxiliary President LaVeta Miller. What a wonderful ride we had this year. May you both have a wonderful time in whatever is next for you. The new officers that you just elected will be able to help you with any of your needs but, if any of you need anything from me I’m sure I can help. Have a great time.
